Virginia Beach Use Terms

Use of Virginia Beach Released Inmates means acceptance of these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site or its search features. These conditions protect readers, the site, and the government and third-party sources linked from its pages.

Virginia Beach Released Inmates is privately owned and has no affiliation with any government body, sheriff, jail, or corrections department. Neither the site nor its advertising partners provides credit, employment, insurance, tenant-screening, or other FCRA-covered services. This is not a private investigation firm or a consumer reporting agency.

Nature of This Site

This is a private reference service with no government authority. It stores no official custody or release records, cannot confirm an individual’s status, cannot release anyone, and cannot file a request or court paper for a user.

The site points to Virginia Beach jail and release-record resources, VADOC tools, supervision offices, courts, and federal sources. Some pages also connect users with independent search providers.

Acceptable Use Rules

Users agree to act lawfully and avoid conduct that harms a person, service, or system. In particular, users may not:

  • Break a law while accessing or using the site
  • Stalk, harass, threaten, or intimidate another person
  • Use information for hiring, housing, lending, insurance, or another prohibited decision
  • Attempt access without authorization
  • Run automated bots, scrapers, or bulk extraction tools
  • Interfere with the site or other visitors’ access

No Consumer Reports

This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It offers no background checks, credit reports, consumer reports, or screening services, and neither do its advertising partners. Users agree not to use site or linked data for:

  • Hiring, firing, or other employment decisions
  • Tenant selection or housing decisions
  • Creditworthiness, lending, or insurance premiums
  • Licensing, permits, or government-program eligibility
  • Any other purpose regulated by the FCRA

Links and Outside Services

Links may lead to release records, VBSO, VADOC, courts, federal portals, legal resources, and independent search services. A link is not an endorsement. The destination controls its content, privacy practices, terms, data quality, prices, and availability. Review those conditions before use.

Provided Without Warranties

The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available.” No warranty is made that:

  • Information is accurate, complete, or current
  • Access will be uninterrupted
  • The service contains no errors, bugs, or security weaknesses
  • A partner search will return a complete result

Custody and public records can change quickly. Nothing here is an official statement from VBSO, a court, VADOC, or another public agency.

Limits on Liability

To the fullest extent Virginia law permits, the site, its owners, and content partners are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or other damages arising from access, use, inability to use, reliance on content, or use of a linked service.

User Indemnification

A user agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold the site and its operators harmless from claims, losses, costs, and reasonable legal fees arising from that user’s conduct, violation of these terms, or misuse of information or services.

Ownership of Site Content

Text, original graphics, logos, design elements, and code belong to Virginia Beach Released Inmates or its content partners unless another owner is identified. They may not be copied, redistributed, republished, or modified without written permission or a lawful exception.

Revisions to These Terms

These terms may be revised when site operations, services, or legal duties change. Updated terms take effect when posted. Continued use after posting means the user accepts the revised version.

Suspension of Access

Access may be limited, suspended, or ended at any time and without advance notice, including when misuse, security risk, legal exposure, or disruption is suspected.

Virginia Governing Law

Virginia law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute must be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Severability of Terms

If a court finds one part invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in effect. The affected term will be narrowed only as much as needed to make it enforceable where the law allows.

Questions About Use

Questions about these terms may be directed through the Contact Us page. That route is not a government records or custody-status line.
